The following are two examples of their end use:
- Moving Wire Seals (MWS) are utilized for sealing a moving wire entering the bottom of an applicator (bath) containing liquid materials such as PTFE in dispersion.
- MWS units find applicability in the chemical etching of PTFE on a wire. MWS units are used to seal a length of stainless steel tube (both ends) containing a heated chemical solution (such as Fluoroetch®) allowing the PTFE coated wire to pass through the solution.
Standard industry practice has been to utilize off the shelf baby nipples made from Latex Rubber or Silicone. With the general discontinuation of latex rubber baby nipples (due to the BPA issue), there has been a need in the industry for a replacement at a reasonable cost and lead time.
